Waiting for francophone gearhead to get back to the office to back me up when I call, because my French is only so-so.

I so badly want a DS or an SM.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:27 |

Surprisingly, an SM is cheaper.

Wow... All I have to say is... WOW...
You know I actually have the means of making a few of those drive again... :)

“....in the dry regions of Mons.”
Belgium can do dry weather?
The whole lot sounds like a money pit though.

I know, and after my overtime I’m putting in this weekend, I’ll have extra cash for a project car or two of my own ;)
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:32 |

Where?
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:32 |

I’m hoping he’d break it up. I can’t afford the whole lot.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:32 |

Don’t tell me this. Now I have to find an SM.

Well, if you can go there and maybe just buy one, get a Pallas with an transmission to restore... If possible a DS23 injection. If VERY well restored, these can go over 40000 euros. Restoration has to be perfect for this kind of price though. Good looking ones can sell over 20000 euros though.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:36 |

It’s an automatic which probably lowers the price but try finding a decent DS for that kind of money.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:36 |

Yes, ONE SM is cheaper, but re-read the ad. We’re talking about 10 DS for sale here :)
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:37 |

I think those are the same car. It’s also a US re-import, because ugly headlights.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:38 |
|
But I don’t want ten Godesses! (especially as they’re all “projects”)
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:40 |
|
Possibly, although different places. A/c and automatic to go with the semi converted lights so presumably a re import as you say.

With 2 other people we did this to a DS
And built it back to a point that it;s actually running now, all that in 2 weeks, not working on it that much. Those DS “projects”... BRING THEM ON!!!! :)
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:44 |

Mind you, restored ones are twice that, but then again so are restored DSs.
![]() 03/16/2016 at 10:44 |

Well, off you go...

My main problem is that I would have to bring 10 non-running cars to Japan... :)

I thought Citromatic was highly sought after and raised the price?
![]() 03/16/2016 at 11:31 |
|
On the DS, yes because it’s the weird BVH with a centrifugal clutch and hydraulic gearchange.
The SM had a conventional Borg Warner automatic which isn’t so popular.
The CX that followed the DS began life with the C Matic which was the three speed plus torque converter semi automatic that was designed for the Ro80 and intended for a Wankel CX which never appeared.

Ah, the short but fascinating history of rotary Citroëns.

Interestingly, I saw a GS Birotor advertised a year or two ago for only €7,000.

I just posted an update. :(
